TPH Tan Peng Hooi painter of Penang

Series

Feeding Time

Feeding time returns Tan to the edge of the village pond, where flocks of ducks are called in to feed as the day closes. He painted the subject across four decades, from a small kampung scene of 1967 to the broad, warm-lit canvases of 2008, and the interest never changed: the ordinary choreography of people and birds at the water, work and evening light held in a single quiet moment.
